1989 Chevy Beretta Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 161000 miles

ok problem is this lights go on when i press button
but then only 1 light then if i want both i have to connect wire in hood dont understand how that happens or to fix it

Not understanding you...are you saying one of the headlight wires is cut or broken?
