Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1961 Chevy Bel Air V8 Automatic

We have a 1955 Chevy bel air and we need to know how to replace and where the rear axle seal is. Is there anyway you could send me a pic to look at do so much better looking at a pic. Thanks

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

Unfortunately this car is way to old for our data base, i will see what i can come up with, but i would be thinking that the seal is on the axle and the bearing will have to be pressed off to change it, there will be a small heat shrink retainer ring as well, all these are not reusable and they should come in a axle bearing kit, check this out.
