Since the year does go back as far as 1956, I used the oldest year you had to offer. Sorry.

A mechanic shop placed a 350GM Crate motor and a GM rebuilt transmision. The transmission is a 700 O/D.

The transmission leaks oil when the car sits for 2 weeks or more.
The mechanic said he has tighten up and replaced all the seals and said all transmissions leak.
I am not a mechanic but find the leak problem advice from my mechanic not right.

Thanks for any help,
MikeL

No transmissions don't leak. If it is newly rebuilt then it should not leak. Thereis either a bad o ring gasket or seal that is leaking. Or a loose line. If your mechanic can't or won't fix it then take ti to a trans shop they will. Or they will tell you where it is leaking from.
