i FOUND TWO DIFFERENT WIRRING DIAGRAMS,CAN YOU TELL ME A WAY THAT I CAN DETERMINE WERE THE FIRST PLUG ON MY DISTRIBUTOR GOES.i HAVE THE FIRRING ODER.SOMEONE WAS TELLING ME TO REMOVE PLUG #1 AND WHEN SUCTION STARTS SEE WERE DISTRIBUTOR POINTS.

Without know whether you are troubleshooting or setting up your wiring...

Generally, on a 59 v8 chevy the #1 position in the distributor will be pointing at the #1 cyllinder itself. Pull the #1 spark plug and place your finger (or a rubber plug) over the hole, turn the engine slowly until the pressure starts to blow from the hole. Then look closely at the timing mark on the harmonic balancer and turn the engine slightly to align the timing marks.

Then remove the distributor cap and see where your rotor is pointing. The firing order will be 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
