My avalanche had a lift put on it prior to me buying it. I had the tires and wheels changed once I purchased it. My questions is: If I needed an alignment after I changed the wheels from a positive offset to a negative offset? My tires are worn out after only six months because the alignment was bad.

Yes, it changes the angles of the tires when the wheel offset is changed.
