2004 Chevy Avalanche turn signals

After I apply my turn signals, they will freeze up when I apply my brakes. Once I ease up on the brakes, the turn signals begin to work again. Any suggestions? Thank you.

most common cause for this issue is a faulty turn signal (multi function) switch on steering column.
