Previous reply to a question on Oil Pressure said Oil Pump was located in the oil pan. The oil pump is located behind the timing chain cover. The repair manual says to remove the oil pan during replacement, what is the purpose of removing the oil pan and draining all of the engine fluids?

Hi: From what I can see, the oil pump hangs below the engine block. It most likely needs removed for bolt access. Here are exploded pictures of the pump, and removal.
