dash lights

I have a 1992 gmc safria 170,000 miles my dash lights were not working I changed the blown fuse, as soon as I turn the lights on it the blows the fuse. I replaced the dimmer and head light switch. What else can I check? thank you!

Check the wireing to see if anthing is grounding out causing a overload blowing th fuse, check the dash light bulbs.

Any aftermarket equipment? ie... car alarm, stereo?
anything that might have been tapped into the wiring

Yes, I installed a car stereo 4 years ago I re-checked the connections all were fine.
