Chevrolet Astro AWD 1995 V6 4.3L 125000 miles.
I was driving astro until I felt I'm running out of gas, so I added a quoter of a tank and drove it until almost run out of gas again, and I added a quoter again and driving astro until it was out of gas for the third time and I barely made to the gas station. I filled up a full tank with chevron gas and drove about 60 miles and astro died. When I was driving astro before it died it felt like I was pulling a heavy load. The engine cranks but wont start, I cleaned spark plugs but it didn't helped. After it sits for a few hours it starts for 1 or 2 seconds and dies.

Thank you

I changed fuel filter and before I installed new one I tried to start the car to see if fuel pump is working and just a little gas came out and only once. I removed fuel tank and a pump, connected pump to the battery and it worked fine, then cleaned tank, replaced old pump strainer and checked wires starting from the first plug to the pump and it's all good. I'm guessing there is no electricity going to the pump. I also connected pump straight to the battery and it start pumping fuel then tried to start the car but nothing happened the engine just cranks.

I gave the car to mechanic yesterday and just now he called me and said the fuel injectors are plugged up and letting to much gas in and he was able to start the car on high rpms. I did check fuel pump connector and it showed 2 volts, when engine cranking the number jumps up and down up to 19volts.
Is there a way to clean injectors?
How could they plugged up when a fuel filter catches all dirt and water?

The fuel pump is bad. I t hink that because you said you ran it out of gas and you were running it low to get between gas stations. Doing so caused the pump to overheat and proably wore it out, and since its not a new pump it just quit on you. Also when you say it sits for 1-2hrs then it will run for 1 second I have had that with several vehciles and they were all fuel pump related.

Easy check take off fuel pump connector and test for voltage, if you have then hook the pump back up and disconnect the fuel line, if thers no fuel then the pump is bad.
