2005 Chevy Astro

After replacing the head gasket and assembled the engine, I can not get the van to start. I have checked the wires, the plugs and all other connecting cables. I have tested the engine, no codes and the vehical DOES have fire. The engine was running before the head gasket was replaced. Can you help me with this, ready to get the van out of the shop.

How do you check ignition timing. I keep putting the distributor in and checking the rotar button, seems to me there is only one of two ways it can go and i have tried both. Whats next?

If you got the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets aligned properly and piston no.1 at compression stroke/TDC-installed distributor making sure that the ignition rotor is pointing at the no.1 cap tower
