2003 Chevy Astro pinging

I just purchased the vehicle and the engine pings alot when accelerating...I've been using premium gas but doesn't help...engine appears to perform adequately, seems to warm up quickly but doesn't get hot...is it most likely the EGR valve? or should I have a complete tune up? OR what?

An engine with the wrong octane fuel or its overheating, a malfunctioned knock sensor and EGR valve not opening will cause the egnine to detonate/ping
