Hello, How do I check the problem codes for the engine performance? I know that there is a pin connector under the dash on the driver side, you used to be able to short a couple of pins out to get a flashing read out on the dash.

thank you for the info, I did purchase an OBD11 scanner from JC whitney to view the codes. Also I wanted to change the dex-cool coolant out of my 02 ASTRO, do I need a coolant evacuator to remove all of the coolant from the engine block? Is there just one coolant plug on the engine block of a 4.3 Lt. Engine or two plugs? What happens if the coolant is to rich, more than 70% dex-cool?
Thanks

On this year van, you need to use a scanner. Take the van to a nationally recognized parts store and have them do it for you. Most will do it for free.

Let me know what you find.

Make sure all of the dex cool is out. If you don't, it will cause major problems for you in the engine cooling system. Try to mix the new coolant 50% coolant and 50% water. Also, there is a universal coolant that can be mixed with any coolant. I believe it is called G O5. Ask for it (it's gold in color) when you go to the parts store. Also, check both sides of the block. THere may be 2 pliugs and flush it out as good as you can with water.

Let me know if you have other questions.
