2001 Chevy Astro upper ball joint

Could you tell me if I need a special tool to take the ball joint off. I had to drill the ribets off, but it still won't come off.

after the rivets are you you can pound it out, may be a bit rusted on it, if your replacing the ball joint you can heat her up with a torch on the bottom.
