2000 Chevy Astro Lift shocks on cargo door

How can I replace the lift shocks on my 2000 Astro van cargo door so that it stays open when lifted up? Is it easy to replace?

Hi:
It is an easy job. Just make sure to have the liftgate properly proped open when you work. One side of the prop rod is held with a clip and the other (may be screwed on or clipped.) If you go to the parts store and ask them to see one, you will be able to tell. It's about a 20 minute job.
