Heater problem
2000 Chevy Astro 225000 miles

the heater only works on defrost. The air coming out is nice and warm but I cannot get it to change from defrost to any other position.

May be a bad heater control unit. Pretty pricy if I remember right. It needs to be tested.

Add to up
check the back of the switch too
check the vacuum line and source
also

Step 1 - A heater cannot operate unless the engine is full of coolant/antifreeze. If coolant level is low check the system for leaks.
