1999 Chevy Astro engine turns over wont start

1999 Chevy Astro All Wheel Drive Automatic 160000 miles

my security light stays on blinking and the engine will fire but wont run how do i fix this i think it is a electrical problem

the computer is responsable for shutting down the starter, the fuel system and lock the car.
an alarm is triggered if the computer loses a ground signal from any of the switches.
the answer to your question is yes.
Here is a list of switches you should start to look:

check door switches for corrosion, or door switch that is stuck( located at door jam of each door)

Door key cylinder switches(attached to key cylinder on the left and right front door)

hood switch ( location, top of inner fender)

Trunk switch (trunk latch)

Trunk key cylinder switch( attach the trunk key cylinder)

Door lock atuator ( part of door lock atuators in each door)

ignition key "in" switch( part of ignition cylinder assembly.

check for corrosion, looseness, or switch that is stuck in.
