I hade my 99 chevy astro van LS brand new from the lot. some problems but nothing major for the past 11 years. but now about two months ago it started with I think it was the starter when engageg to start the engine it would make a grinding noise and then start. and now it cranks but won't start. I sprayed some gas into the air intake and it started but then it stopped so I think its the fuel pump it's not makeing noise like it used to or when I turn the switch to on I don't hear any noise comeing from the fuel pump in the gas tank. My question is before I take the tank off to replace the fuel pump should I take other steps first. or do you think the problem is the fuel pump.
