When you checked your pressure, did it immediately drop back to zero? If it did, you may have an issue with the check valve in your fuel pump or a bad fuel pressure regulator. I believe the bleed down pressure should be about 5 psi max. Also, if you just changed your fuel pump, you should change your fuel filter as preventative maintenance.
Simply put: 1. Change fuel filter.
2. Check your bleed down pressure.
3. If bleed down is excessive, get some brass fittings from your local hardware store and plumb into your fuel line to take a direct pressure reading from the pump. (Ensure that fuel is not going anywhere else other than the tank to your gauge)
Good luck!
P.S. I just went through all this a few weeks ago. 2 months on a new pump when it went out. My pressures were about the same.
