1998 Chevy Astro fan switch

Fan switch works intermitantly. When working will only blow on high speed. Will not be working and then suddenly will begin working again. Any idea what is involved in replacing the fan switch, if that indeed is the problem. I understand that a lot of GM's have this issue as well as wiper problems.

Test the blower motor resistor-if it checks out concentrate on the HVAC contol module-
