Electrical problem
1997 Chevy Astro 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive 151000 miles

1997 Chevy Astro van all the dials are at 0 but the van works properly I have no idea what speed I am going or the amount of gas I have as all dials are at zero and it goes on and off? I have spent alot of money on this and it is still not fixed. I will be driver and the guages just drop down to zero. But the van runs fine. It is not good as I have no idea of how fast I am going or if I am close to running out of gas.

You said you've already spent alot of money on this problem, can you tell us what you've done so far or had done?

All I can do is tell you to check the basics, when the gages refuse to work, check for B+ and ground at the gage cluster. B+ should be gage fuse #4 10 amp. The ground for the cluster should be at the thermostat housing. You can take the grounds loose shine-up the end with a piece of emery cloth or something, hit the mounting surface a lick also, put everything back, see if it makes any difference? I don't usually get that lucky, but, you never know.
