1996 Chevy Astro trans filter change

i am having a problem fitting the seal back into the transmission that the filter fits into , the tube is recessed in the trans . any suggerions wouold be much appreciated .thanks paul

Just in case you still need this (I know it's been 4 days)


Make sure that you remove the old seal from the hole where the filter inlet (tube) goes. If the old seal has been removed, you may have to tap the new seal in place. Notice I said tap, use only enough force to get the seal in; too much force will warp the seal and it will not fit in the hole. Let me know how it goes.
