WIPERS OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY.
OCCASIONALLY SOUNDS LIKE WASHER PUMP MAY BE RUNNING.

I had the same thing what I found out is they are grounded through the motor and they go bad. So run a wire from the wiper motor to the fire wall that should take care of it.
