Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage, if you don't have one. If your fully obd1 compliant, check for any applicable mil codes. Sometimes the fuel poppets need cleaning. Right now I suspect a fuel issue, could be something other.

If you have the spider fuel system, you have to remove the upper manifold to get at them. The best cleaning procedure is a shop procedure. I don't know if injector cleaner in the gas tank will help?
