1995 Chevy Astro How to check my fuel pump

Before I just replace the fuel pump I want to make sure that is what it is. My question is how do I check and see if my fuel pump is working. Went out this morning and car just wont starte don't hear the fuel pump it has gas never done this before

Check the fuel pump fuse and the fuel pump relay-
