would the egr sensor cause my truck to stall when it slows down and have a rough idle it was replaced when i bought the truck two years ago

absolutely. most common problem is that is not actually the valve bad but there is a humk of carbon holding it open. remove valve and the piece of carbon will come out with a pick. then clean carbon, there will be build up where the valve bolts onto intake.
