1990 Chevy Astro engine idles very high

i had recently changed out my plugs and wires, used oem parts, and now when i start the van, my engine runs as if the gas is mashes down. the throttle is in the original position, and the egr vavle has been replaced with a new one. what would possibly cause this problem?

Recheck the EGR valve if its cracked open it will create a leaning effect and computer will compensate and throw fuel at it, also clean out the idle air control valve.
