1986 Chevy Astro Service Engine Soon Light

While I'am driving my van the Service Engine Soon Light comes on and after it comes on the van stalls but the van starts up again and keep running? It stalls 2 or 3 times within a mile but it starts up again and keep running.

Hi:
The check engine light is a good thing. Have the computer scanned at a nationally recognized parts store. If the light comes on, there should be a trouble code identifying the problem. Keep in mind, most parts stores will provide the service for free.
