The engine light was already on before this happened. (Exhaust oxygen system) the car drive fine. Before this happened.

Basically, I’m driving everything is fine then a message pops up, (check oil turn engine off) I assumed it was low, so I topped it up, the light was still on. I then begin to drive and it’s making like a popping noise after every rev. Then white smoke comes out and the car turns off. It now won’t turn on. This happened in the space of 15 minutes. I don’t know what the problem could be?

Hello,

Before adding oil did you check to see if the oil was actually low?
Keep in mind that having too much oil can also cause internal engine damage due to high pressure.

Also did the engine to overheat.
Typically, white smoke out of the exhaust means a blown head gasket. Which will allow coolant to enter the engine and mix with oil.
So, if you check the oil and it is a milky white color then that is what happened.

Take a look at this guide:

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I checked it was low, but I topped it up with 5 liters. But before this, the car was in limp mode on the way to the shop to buy oil and filling it.

So what does the car do now. Does it crank and not start?
Also did the engine overheat?

No, it doesn’t start, not even turn over. Currently in a garage but they still haven't looked at it. I don’t think the engine overheated. I’m just not sure anymore.

The vehicle goes into limp mode to protect the primary components like the engine/transmission. Many times the ECM will need to be reset before it will let you start the engine. Disconnecting the battery can help reset it.
Let me know what the shop says.
