Check engine light on?

May be has related, but has a check engine light appear after filling tank a bit. Proceeded to rescrew gas cap to make sure it was on tight. Saw light on for a bit. Opened the car hood to see if anything looked off and when I turned the vehicle back on, the light now appears off.

Sounds normal. If the cap doesn't seat properly it can leak enough to trigger an EVAP code. Those will turn the light on and on modern vehicles like yours it is a constant test so when you tightened the cap it sealed and the test passed and the light went off as a result.
