Hey MARTIN WAHOME,

Is the code P1298?

There is a TSB applicable to this vehicle to replace the ELD.

Honda TSB 05-006

The process is shown well in the video link below:

I would start by replacing the ELD as it is a cheap and easy to replace part and then clearing codes and retesting.

Regards, Joe

Hey MARTIN WAHOME,

Can you please list all of the PCM codes you have currently?

Do you have any leaks in the exhaust system?

If the code is cleared does the code return after a road test (will need a drive over ten minutes at operating temperature).

Hi, I got your answers very useful. In my case, I can't trace any leakage in the exhaust system. The code I am getting is P0420. Once is cleared it resume after a road test.

Hey MARTIN WAHOME,

P0420 is the catalytic converter efficiency bank 1 threshold code.

This generally means you need to replace the catalytic converter.

The other issues you can have are exhaust leaks or oxygen sensor issues.

As this is for a different vehicle can you start a new question. You can use the link below, fill in your vehicle specs and start the new question. I will then be able to run you through further tests.

We need to keep each vehicle separate so that the diagnosis and repair paths are clear.

Did the ELD replacement fix the issues with the Honda CRV you were working on?
