Check engine code P0171?

I started to clean the MAF sensor and when I unplugged it there was what looked like oil in the connection and was wanting to find out if that was normal or if there was something else wrong.

Hi,

Chances are there is nothing to worry about. Oftentimes, people use dielectric grease on connectors to help maintain a good connection and prevent corrosion. That is likely what you are seeing.

Take contact cleaner and spray out what is there. Then, if you want, you can use a little dielectric grease to help seal the connection. I attached a pic below of what I'm referring to. Oftentimes a parts store has it at the checkout in a small container for a dollar.
