Check Emissions light

I recently changed my oil & filter and shortly after this the warning appeared along with the engine management light. Car is driving well except for this. The oil was 5w30 as I thought that the car has a particulate filter rather than 5w40. Would this make the light come on or might it be another problem.

uless you disturbed something that set off the light

Not checked for a code yet. Just thought strange that it happened a day or so after oil change. Will find out when I get home.
