Check airbag system on?

Wondering why "check airbag system" light is on and what steps need to be done to get it to go away?

That light means that there is an issue with the air bag system. To determine the issue the first step would be to use a scan tool to read the code(s) that are stored in the air bag module. From there you will have an idea of where the problem is. There are multiple parts in the system that can set codes and there is no way to know what the issue is without the scan and then repairing the system.
