Hello,
Please note that the voltage regulator is part of the alternator. A new alternator will come with the voltage regulator built in.
This could be a wiring issue. You could have a short or a bad ground in the charging system harness.
It can also be a burn fusible link. This vehicle has a 10-gauge fusible link for the alternator. It is located in under the dash fuse box.
