can i change the ignition lock cylinder and make my car run?

Hello,

Yes you can, but you will have to have the new key programmed to the Power-train Control Module [PCM] by either a locksmith or the dealership. This is done intentionally to keep thieves from going around and being able to steal vehicles, and is the only two places to have this done. I hope that this helps.
