Does anyone know where I might find detailed 'how-to' information on changing a 1984 Buick Riviera drivers side mirror (cable type). I took a look at my dad's car door when I was up there this weekend and it looks like there's a host of things a person could break if they did it wrong. I'm hoping to find a step by step for this year and model somewhere on how to accomplish this task. I don't 'think' the entire internal door panel needs to come off but... Thanks for any help.

yes the panel needs to come off, due to age of this car we don't have much info at all on it.the cable escheon is on outside of panel and rest of stuff comes through door. this is all we have and it's for a power mirror but yours will be similar. see pic
