There is an engine miss when diving forward or backwards?

Hi,

You are correct. There is no MAF sensor. However, in its place is a manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP). I attached a picture of it and its location below.

As far as the issue, have you checked for diagnostic trouble codes? If you have, what did you find?

Let me know as much as you can about what it does, what has been checked, or anything you can think of that may help.

Hey jake & Nick. can't seem to fine a replacement for this Map sensor, I got one from Amazon but it don't look anything like the one I removed, the part numbers off of the old one is DL23087 56027940 46435, the one I removed did not have that small L shaped tube that goes onto the small hole, this one has a about a 3/8 opening, unless I took the wrong thing off. I took it off the left side of the carb if your inside
can you help with that

totally different. the one I got from Amazon stated for a dodge 1998 1500 ?? went back and checked , they only show one side of the senser, plus the plug is in the front

Sorry for all the confusion with this problem, so here is what happen, I'm looking at the engine from inside the van that has the removal engine cover inside the van, so trying to comprehend where everything is on this engine so I got turned around not realizing I'm looking and working at the back of the engine instead of the front which is why I mistakenly took off the throttle sensor which is what I sent you the picture of along with the Map sensor, (sorry about that). So, my question at this point is would the Map sensor have anything to do with the problem that I'm having now as to the engine fells like it's missing after changing everything (plugs/cap /wires and rotor).

No problem whatsoever. I can't tell you how many times I've been looking at a pic in the manual and have done the same thing.

Yes, the MAP sensor can certainly cause drivability issues. Were you able to locate it?
