Hi, when I try to lock it with the central locking it doesn't work but I can lock it manually. As I have taken the fuse out to change it for a new one to see if this helps. But the car light is on saying a door is open when they are all shut and I don't know what to do now.

Hello,

It sounds like a faulty door "door open contact" . The internal microswitch often becomes faulty. These are located in your door lock mechanism on each door. This will prevent the remote locking from working. This usually affects the drivers door contact switch as this is the most used door.

The boot lock mechanism is also prone to fail, see picture below of broken micro switch holder on boot lock.

You could first try and lubricate the door locks. Do this by clicking the door locks into closed position, with door open, and then spray some WD40 or similar into the door lock to try and loosen off a sticky micro switch. See pictures below.

At times there can be corrosion in the door electrical connector. These are located on each pillar and connect to the doors .

To remove door card and replace door lock actuator see below link.

Please let us know how you get along.
