Check engine light about a month ago thought it was TPS because 2 wires at connector crossed and went copper to copper. I fixed that but the check engine light came back because I manually reset it. Finally took to mechanic and he believes it's FWD gasket on catalytic converter, making it run lean and tripped the check engine light. I've known about the leak for a while, and I was planning on installing new gaskets and bolts as soon as possible myself.

Yes, an exhaust leak can make the check engine light turn on but we need to know the code so I can see if the gasket will fix it.
