Does the second catalytic converter usually mess up after replacing the port one catalytic converter and if so, usually how long after replacing the first one?

Hello,

On many occasions these converters tend to go bad one after another.
There is no specific time frame for the second one to go bad.
Sometimes they go bad together.
If the second converter goes bad it will likely trigger the check engine light, which would give you similar code as the first one.

I have seen shops many times replace both at the same time, which could save on some labor. However, if you already have one changed then the best option would be to just wait.

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
