I purchased shorty headers and a direct fit catalytic converter and followed by a 2017 Silverado muffler. my goal was to make it be less noisy and save money because I installed and welded it myself. The noise and little rattle noises didn't seem right. Did I do something wrong? please help if possible words of advice.

That is metal to metal contact. I doubt you did anything wrong but I just suspect the exhaust is resting on or touching another piece of metal. It appears to be pretty close to that cross member. Is it making contact anywhere? Use some sort of insulated gloves or a shirt or something and press up and pull down on the exhaust to find where the noise is coming from. Clearly once you start touching it and dampening it, it will change or stop all together.

There are no tricks to this. Just protect your hands and see when it stops and that will be where it is touching something.

Let us know what you find. Thanks
