catalytic converter, is cataclean safe to use?

The code for the catalytic converter showed up when I went for inspection. Researched how to fix it without replacing it, so I bought a bottle of cataclean. Is it safe for my engine?

Yep, you should be okay. If it doesn't work, you will need to replace the converter. Here is a new catalytic converter for $43.00 on amazon:
