I'm working on a 1958- 63 series international 340 utility(tractor). I do realize that you guys are car experts. However, experts none the same indeed. The problem is with a zenith Bendix 12522 down draft carburetor' can you tell me If there is supposed to be a jet idle in this hole? There wasn't one in there when I took it apart. (I however am the second person to do so) and the other person could have very well left it out. I ordered a rebuild kit which does not contain the idle jet which is depicted in the instructions picture included (the hole is threaded) and this is a shot of the upper half. I've done a a lot of work on this tractor' could you please offer some friendly, much needed, expertise?

Don't know what's up with my phone I hope you get these if not I'll have to try another way. Thanks though either way. What I can't figure out with any certainty if something goes in this hole or not.

That depends on which carburetor type you have. The 12522 is a service carburetor that was available in three types, two have adjustable jets, one is fixed jet. The original carburetor on that tractor should have adjustable jets.
The adjustable carbs have a jet into them from the bottom and one on the top for idle mix. Inside they have an economizer jet in some applications. On the fixed jet models there is a jet under the main emulsion tube (the brass tube)
The area I think your asking about could have an extended air tube when used on a distillate engine.
I don't believe the 340 used that on the original carburetor.
