The car isn't turning over or starting. When I try and start it, it sounds like a thud then no noise. After holding the key in the run position a bit longer, the starter then tries again but then goes silent. I replaced the battery and the starter and that didn't seem to work. What should I do now?

Hi,

If the starter is engaging but not turning the engine, are you sure the engine isn't locked? Do me a favor. Get a breaker bar and a socket to fit on the crankshaft pulley bolt. See if you are able to turn the engine by hand to make sure it actually moved.

The attached pic below shows the crankshaft pulley removed. I highlighted where the bolt will be.

Also, if possible, record the sounds it is making and upload them for me to hear.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe
