Car will not turn

Did this problem start immediately after the battery was disconnected? Was a memory saver device used while the battery was removed?

No I had to jump start the car a couple of times and it would not after that it would not start I charged the battery then went and bought a new one and it still doing the same thing so the problem started after I had to jump start the car a couple of times

The concern is the engineers at VW purposely designed-in a trick to cost their customers money after the sale. On many of their models, simply disconnecting the battery, or letting it run dead, causes multiple computers to lock up. They will need to be unlocked by the dealer, and that means towing the car there. Some newer models won't even come out of "park". They have to be skidded onto a flatbed truck for the trip to the dealer.

Does anyone else have any suggestions that I may try

VW and BMW have been very stingy when it comes to sharing their service information and equipment with independent shops, but the aftermarket industry is catching up. I suspect your computers can be handled by the newer scanners, but my information comes from some classes I sat in on about eight years ago. A lot can change in that much time. Before you get all "wrapped around the axle" with the dealer, at least stop in at a few independent shops and ask if they can unlock your computers. As told to me, the story was the dealers typically charged $800.00 to $900.00, plus the cost of towing, but they had a captive audience. You couldn't go anywhere else. Today I suspect you DO have a choice where to go.
