Welcome to 2CarPros.
Although it was hot outside, the engine operates at around 100 Celsius. Unless the engine was just turned off and was overheating prior, 40 Celsius is nothing to worry about.
I need to explain. This vehicle isn't offered in the US, so my technical information is very limited. However, some basic things to check would be to confirm the coolant level is full and make sure the cooling fan is working properly. If the coolant is full, the engine sat for some time prior to the problem, and the light still comes on, I would next suspect an issue with the coolant temperature sensor.
Here are a few links that may help you. Take a look through them.

Now, since the engine will not turn, you really should check the battery. Here is a link explaining how to load test one. Try this to confirm the battery is good. Remember, heat is very hard on a battery.

Again, I'm sorry I have no specific info on this vehicle. However, most vehicles function the same, so first check the things I mentioned and let me know what you find.
Take care,
