Let's remove the battery and take it to an auto parts store for testing. Either charge it fully or replace it if it was deemed bad.
Removal of the cables will sort of reset stuff, the vehicle was sensing low voltage, it needs to sense full voltage when hooked back up.
You might also have to "relearn idle". This may help it along. Let's find a nice clear un-busy road, prefer nobody back behind you. Get him up to sixty mph, then put both of your feet in the floor, not on the pedals! Coast until the just will not coast any more.
