Car will not start, code P1516

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

The code is related to the throttle actuator control (position) sensor. I do not see why that would make a difference by having the vehicle jump started.

When the vehicle is not jumped, does it crank normally or does the starter fail to turn the engine? Have you checked to make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight as well as the battery being good?

I am asking that you start with these tests because something as simple as a weak battery connection can cause this. It can also have an adverse effect on electrical components once the car is running (after being jump started).

Thanks Joe for answering so fast. I could not do a load test since the starter would not engage. Next best thing, I switched batteries with a 1994 Buick LeSabre and the Saturn fired right up. Thanks for your help and leading me in the right direction.
