My car will not start. I took it to dealership after they made diagnostic they told me my car needs an ignition coil, spark plugs and wires. Also, they have to change the hybrid battery pack at at cost of $1,600.00, which expensive for me. I am wondering what really caused my car not to start. Is it the ignition coil or just the hybrid battery pack need to be charge? Thank you in advance for your answer.

Hello,

I will be helping you today. The first thing I would do is scan the car for codes yourself to see what comes up. Next when you say the car will not start, do you mean the engine will not turn over or the engine turns over and will not start? Next do you have a battery light on in the dash? You can change the battery yourself by following this guide. Also, I would check the twelve volt battery condition as well.

Here are guides to help you run some tests that I would do next:

and

Check out the diagrams (below). I found the wiring diagrams for the hybrid and gas engine so we can see how the system works.

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken
