I changed everything the mobile mechanic told me to change based upon the diagnostic. The camshaft sensor, vanos solenoid. The belt turn but the car will not start.

Hi Jay,

How frustrating, since I am coming into this a little late some of these steps may have already been done but so I can get on the same page:

1. The belt is turning: does it look/sound normal? Not sluggish or skipping or super fast?
2. When you turn the key to ON (NOT CRANKING) can you hear the hum of the fuel pump?
3. Have you tested for spark?
4. Are there any codes on the vehicle?

Here are the diagnostic codes: P0012, P0016, P16A3. I changed both the camshaft position sensor, I cleaned the vanos solenoids. The car crank but won't start. The pulleys and serpentine belt turn. I don't know how to listen for the fuel pump, however I will check the fuel pump relay. I tried to upload a recording from my phone to show the pulleys turning, but the file type is not allowed for upload to you guys.

Sorry, we must be having a technical error. can you tell me which phone or the file type not allowed? Can you turn the ignition key on without cranking the engine over. Listen for the fuel pump in the rear of the rear to run for five seconds. It should run with those codes.

This guide can help as well:

Please run down this guide and report back.
